explained

Who is weight loss treatment for?

Eligibility depends on your BMI, health history and any weight-related conditions.

How can treatment help?

Treatment can reduce appetite and food noise, making it easier to eat less.

What happens after I start?

Your progress and any side effects are reviewed so treatment can be adjusted or stopped when needed.

How do increasing dosage

Your plan begins at the starting dose and moves to the next dose automatically every four weeks, unless your prescriber advises otherwise. Each dose has its own price, so your monthly cost increases as you move up. You’ll see the full dose and price schedule before you begin.

Weight Loss plans from Heracles

Who is Heracles weight loss treatment for?

Heracles is designed for adult men. Prescription treatment is generally licensed for people with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related health condition. Your assessment confirms whether treatment is suitable for you.See: Mounjaro prescribing information and Wegovy prescribing information.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can complete the assessment directly. A Heracles specialist reviews your health and confirms whether treatment is appropriate.

Do you prescribe weight loss injections?

Yes, and also the oral pills when clinically suitable. Complete the assessment to see the licensed prescription options available to you.

How do weight loss injections work?

They act on signals involved in appetite and fullness. This can make smaller portions feel more satisfying and reduce the pull to keep eating.See: Mounjaro prescribing information, Wegovy prescribing information and Ard et al.

What is “food noise”?

Food noise is the constant mental pull towards food: planning the next meal, thinking about snacks or struggling to feel satisfied. It is not a diagnosis, but it describes something many men recognise.Related evidence: GLP-1 appetite regulation and weight maintenance.

How does the assessment work?

Tell us about your health, weight history and current medication. Choose your preferred treatment route, then a doctor checks that it is safe and clinically suitable.

Will the weight come back if I stop?

Weight regain is common after treatment stops. In a major maintenance trial, people who stopped tirzepatide regained weight on average, while those who continued maintained and extended their weight loss. Your prescriber can help you plan for maintenance.Evidence: SURMOUNT-4 maintenance trial.

Is a prescription guaranteed?

No. Treatment is only prescribed when a doctor decides it is appropriate for you. You will not be charged for medication unless it is prescribed.

What happens when I start?

You begin with the starting dose. Your dose is scheduled to increase every four weeks, giving your body time to adjust.See: Mounjaro dosing and Wegovy dosing.

How will my dose change?

Your dose moves to the next step automatically every four weeks, unless your prescriber advises otherwise. If you are experiencing side effects, contact the clinical team before your next increase. Licensed weekly treatments use gradual escalation to improve tolerability.See: NICE prescribing guidance, Mounjaro dosing and Wegovy dosing.

Will the monthly price increase too?

Yes. Each dose has its own price, so your monthly payment increases automatically as your dose rises. You will see the complete dose and price schedule before beginning treatment.

What is included in my plan?

Your plan includes:

- Your prescribed medication
- Clinical review and prescribing
- Plain, unbranded deliveryDose reviews
- Access to the clinical team
- Access to the nutrition course
- Additional consultations and blood tests are available separately.

Are blood tests included?

No. Blood testing is not included as standard. A clinician may recommend it when your history or symptoms suggest that a wider health check would be useful.

How much weight could I lose?

Results vary. The “up to 21%” figure shown on the page comes from a clinical trial over approximately 72 weeks; it is not a forecast or guarantee for every patient. Your progress depends on your treatment, dose, starting point and time on treatment.Evidence: SURMOUNT-1 tirzepatide trial.

When might I notice a difference?

Changes in appetite or food noise may be noticed before substantial changes on the scale. Meaningful weight loss develops over weeks and months, not overnight.

What if my weight loss slows down?

Plateaus happen. Your clinical team can review your dose, side effects, adherence and progress before deciding whether anything needs to change.

What are the most common side effects?

The most common effects involve digestion, including nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting and stomach discomfort. They are often more noticeable while the dose is increasing.See: Mounjaro patient leaflet and Wegovy patient leaflet.

What should I do if I have side effects?

Tell the clinical team rather than pushing through them. Your next increase may need to be delayed, or your dose may need to be reduced or stopped.See: NICE prescribing guidance and MHRA patient guidance.

What if my weight loss slows down?

Plateaus happen. Your clinical team can review your dose, side effects, adherence and progress before deciding whether anything needs to change.

When should I seek urgent medical help?

Seek urgent medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain—particularly if it travels to your back or comes with nausea and vomiting. This can be a sign of acute pancreatitis, a rare but serious complication.See: MHRA pancreatitis guidance, Mounjaro patient leaflet and Wegovy patient leaflet.
