More about weight loss from Heracles

Who is Heracles weight loss treatment for?

Heracles is designed for adult men. A clinician reviews your weight, health history and current medicines to decide whether treatment is suitable for you. Completing the assessment does not guarantee a prescription.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can complete the assessment directly. A Heracles specialist reviews your health and confirms whether treatment is appropriate.

What happens after the assessment?

Complete your assessment to explore the available next steps. You can review your options, full price and commitment before ordering. A clinician reviews suitability before prescribing; completing the assessment does not guarantee treatment.

Can I discuss my options?

Your clinician considers your health, goals and current medicines when explaining appropriate next steps.

What is “food noise”?

Food noise is the constant mental pull towards food: planning the next meal, thinking about snacks or struggling to feel satisfied. It is not a diagnosis, but it describes something many men recognise.

How does the assessment work?

Tell us about your health, weight history and current medication. A doctor reviews your assessment and decides whether treatment is clinically suitable.

Will the weight come back if I stop?

Weight can return after treatment stops. Speak to your prescriber before stopping so you can discuss follow-up and a plan for maintaining your progress.

Is a prescription guaranteed?

No. Treatment is only prescribed when a doctor decides it is appropriate for you. You will not be charged for medication unless it is prescribed.

What happens when I start?

If treatment is prescribed, your clinician explains your starting plan. Dose changes depend on your prescribed schedule, response and side effects. Contact the clinical team before changing your dose.

How will my dose change?

Follow the schedule provided by your prescriber. Whether and when your dose changes depends on the medicine prescribed and your individual plan. If you have side effects, contact the clinical team before any planned increase. Do not change your dose without advice.

How will I know the ongoing cost?

Each dose has its own price, so your monthly payment increases automatically as your dose rises. You will see the complete dose and price schedule before beginning treatment.

What is included in my plan?

Your plan includes:

- Your prescribed medication
- Clinical review and prescribing
- Plain, unbranded delivery and dose reviews
- Access to the clinical team
- Access to the nutrition course
- Additional consultations and blood tests are available separately.

Are blood tests included?

No. Blood testing is not included as standard. A clinician may recommend it when your history or symptoms suggest that a wider health check would be useful.

Will my results be the same as someone else’s?

No. Results vary and depend on your starting point, health, prescribed plan and time. Your progress is reviewed individually.

When might I notice a difference?

Changes in appetite or food noise may be noticed before substantial changes on the scale. Meaningful weight loss develops over weeks and months, not overnight.

What if my weight loss slows down?

Plateaus happen. Your clinical team can review your dose, side effects, adherence and progress before deciding whether anything needs to change.

What are the most common side effects?

Side effects depend on the medicine prescribed. Some treatments can cause nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting or stomach discomfort. Read the patient information leaflet supplied with your medicine and contact the clinical team if you have side effects or questions.

What should I do if I have side effects?

Tell the clinical team rather than pushing through them. Your next increase may need to be delayed, or your dose may need to be reduced or stopped.See: MHRA patient guidance.

What commitment options are available?

Choose a rolling monthly plan that can be paused, or a 3-, 6- or 12-month contract. If you cancel a fixed-term contract early, the agreed term remains payable, subject to your statutory rights.

When should I seek urgent medical help?

Seek urgent medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain—particularly if it travels to your back or comes with nausea and vomiting. This can be a sign of acute pancreatitis, a rare but serious complication.See: MHRA pancreatitis guidance.
