Common questions

How do I collect the sample?

A simple finger-prick using the lancet device included in your kit. Press the device against your fingertip, collect the blood in the tube provided, and post it back in the prepaid envelope. Full instructions are included.

When should I do the test?

Before 11am, ideally. Testosterone levels are at their highest in the morning and decline throughout the day. Testing early gives the most accurate baseline.

How long do results take?

3–5 days from when your sample arrives at the lab. You’ll receive a notification when your results are ready in your Heracles dashboard.

Who reviews my results?

Our specialist team reviews every result. You’re not getting an algorithm-generated report. Your results are reviewed by clinicians with expertise in men’s health.

What if my levels are low?

If your results suggest low testosterone, there’s a clear path forward with specialist support. Your next step would be a comprehensive venous blood draw to confirm the result.

What if my levels are normal?

That’s a good result. You’ll have a clear baseline to track over time, and you’ll know that testosterone isn’t the issue. If symptoms persist, your results may point to other areas worth investigating.

Is this test accurate?

Your sample is processed at a UKAS accredited laboratory — the same accreditation standard used by NHS labs. The finger-prick method is clinically validated for testosterone screening.
