Each pen contains 4 weekly doses. Inject on the same day each week.
Allow the pen to reach room temperature for 30 minutes before injecting.
Inspect the solution — it should be clear and colourless. Do not use if cloudy or discoloured.
Rotate your injection site with each dose to avoid irritation.
Do not inject into areas that are bruised, tender, red, or hard.

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Remove the pen from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes. Do not use a microwave or hot water to warm the pen.
Check the expiry date on the pen label. Do not use if it has expired.
Remove the pen cap and attach a new needle by pushing it straight onto the pen and twisting until snug.
Remove both the outer and inner needle caps. Keep the outer cap for safe disposal later.
Prime the pen by dialling to the priming symbol, pointing the needle upward, and pressing the plunger. Hold for 5 seconds until a drop appears at the needle tip. Repeat if no drop appears.

Choose your injection site: the front of your thigh, your lower abdomen (at least 5 cm from the navel), or the back of your upper arm (with assistance).
Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and allow it to air-dry completely.
Dial the dose selector to your prescribed dose.
Pinch the skin at the injection site and insert the needle at a 90-degree angle in one smooth motion.
Press the plunger button slowly and steadily until the dose counter returns to zero.
Keep the needle in the skin and count slowly to 5 to ensure the full dose has been delivered.

Withdraw the needle straight out and release the skin fold. If you see a small drop of blood, apply gentle pressure with a cotton ball or tissue. Do not rub the site.
Carefully place the outer needle cap back on and unscrew the needle from the pen. Dispose of the used needle in a sharps container.
Replace the pen cap and store the pen in the refrigerator between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze.
Record the date and injection site in your Heracles dashboard so you can rotate sites with each dose.
Dispose of full sharps containers at your local pharmacy or through your council’s clinical waste collection service.
